Ashwagandha Tonic Oil in Sesame Oil

Ashwagandha means ‘to impart the strength of a stallion’. This nourishing oil helps to ease tension in sore muscles and build strength when they are tired from overuse or are underdeveloped. From the Ayurvedic point of view Ashwagandha oil is specific for vata disorders associated with dry skin, muscular weakness and pain. Sesame oil contains high levels of minerals, including calcium and magnesium renowned for soothing the nervous system.

Bhringaraj Hair Oil

‘Bhringaraj’ means ‘King of Hair’ in Sanskrit. This oil is traditionally used in Ayurveda to nourish and strengthen the hair. Its rejuvenating properties help to prevent early greying and balding. Ayurveda’s view on these conditions is that due to high testosterone levels, pitta becomes very high and literally wilts the hair roots. The herbs in this oil particularly help to reduce pitta. Bhringaraj is also considered to be very nourishing if early greying is caused by nutritional deficiencies following childbirth or illness.

Brahmi Mind Oil

Castor Oil

Castor oil is superb for nourishing dry skin and removing stagnations from the body. Use externally as a ‘castor oil’ pack by soaking a flannel in warm castor oil and apply to affected area. Cover with a plastic bag or sheet, then cover with a towel and place a hot water bottle on top for 20 minutes. Castor can be used internally and regulates the movement of vata downwards. It is a very strong remedy and should not be used if pregnant.
